Long-distance Calling

Need to call people outside of Atlanta? Look here for different ways you can do it cheaply.

I usually use http://www.justphonecards.com To date I have not had any problems and they have a lot of different cards available (to different locations, etc.). Make sure you look at all the conditions for each card and choose one according to your use patterns. For example, do you tend to make few but long calls or many short calls? - Jose Zagal

I didn't get a land-line for my apartment and just use my cell phone. Free long distance within the U.S., roaming across all of AT&T's network nationwide, unlimited nights (after 9 p.m.) and weekends, and 500 anytime minutes for $40 a month.

Another cheap/free alternative is Skype, which you can use to call from your computer to someone's phone for a small fee (e.g. less than 1 cent per minute in some cases), or to someone else's computer for free. The cost is the same no matter where in the world you call from but it depends on where you are calling to. e.g. you can call Brazil from the US or you can call Brazil from Australia, but it will cost you the same.
