Eugene Wallingford

Eugene Wallingford at the Squeak Multimedia Workshop my photo

I am an associate professor of computer science at the University of Northern Iowa. My first Smalltalk experience came in the late '80s while doing graduate work at Michigan State University, where our knowledge-based systems lab adopted ParcPlace ObjectWorks as its development platform.

I've followed the Squeak community closely since finding out about it in the mid 90s, playing with various early versions of the system. But I have not had the opportunity to use Squeak on a large scale in my academic work. I'm eager to learn more about using Morphic and all of the wonderful multimedia tools that Squeak provides, and I look forward to learning how others have used Squeak in educational settings with everyone from eight year olds to college students.
