Evaluations of United States. Congress. Senate. Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions

The opening statements of Senator Kennedy discusses in detail the opportunities that have been created for women due to Title IX and attempts to disprove the stereotype that “Title IX forces schools to create opportunities for female athletes even though women and girls are simply not interesting in playing” (page 6). Kennedy's statements are very pro Title IX. Following Senator Kennedy is Senator Wellstone who takes an opposing view on Title IX. This hearing continues with many senators and other US officials (including senator Clinton starting on page 12) stating facts, opinions, and what they think would help improve Title IX. The information in this hearing is worth taking a look at you may just need a little time tough to find exactly what you are looking for.
