Helado con Crema Jordan Little ![]() For these images I wanted to simply show the progression of ice cream over time. I created a support system out of textbooks so that my camera would be positioned correctly. I angled the lens of the camera downwards (by balancing the camera on the textbook structure) so that I could achieve an aerial view of the ice cream bowl. I was indoors, so the lighting remained constant during the 20 minutes it took to eat the ice cream and let it melt. I set the camera on a self-timer and let it run while I ate. From the many photos I had, I selected four that clearly showed the progression of time and the effect it had on the bowl of ice cream. The results were a little disappointing due to the combination of poor lighting in the Onix, having to change the position of the camera when it fell, and using a very old digital camera. However, the four images clearly show the subject in different states. The four images give a realistic quality to the ice cream because they explicitly show the progression and change in its texture, complexion, and form. If you were only to view one image (perhaps the first image) you would be viewing a seemingly static subject instead of the living, breathing bowl of ice cream that is perceived with the four images.
