Update 2 for Forced Perspective and HDR
Group Members : Caban, Urazov, Knight
- A Time line
- June 15: Created Forced Perspective shot using large Coca-Cola in Beer mug.
- June 15-28: Photographed under different exposure settings multiple scenes for use in HDR creation.
- June 29: Created HDR images using Photoshop CS2 and HDRShop v1
- July 5: Will show 2 HDR shots with both analog Forced Perspective and Digitally manipulated forced perspective check.gif
- July 5-8: Find and create/manipulate more HDR shots with Forced Perspective. In addition, work must be done to improve output of HDR images.
- July 10: Finalize all pictures and shots, put up in webpage without information as to whether digital or analog forced perspective. Focus will be on the production of digitally manipulated images and not Analog images.
- July 11: Finalize documentation
- July 12-13: Final Delivery
- Problems to DATE
- The image alignment issue is still a problem (as can be seen in the glass house pictures taken by hand as well as in the pictures of the Placa Espanya building despite being on a tripod). This should be alliviated if HDRShop v2 can be used, otherwise use of Photoshop and manual alignment will probably be the required alternative, thus limiting the number of pictures that can be created.
- It's really hard to find tiny objects to use for Analog Forced Perspective shots but really easy to resize them in Photoshop.
- Both HDRShop v1 and Photoshop CS2 have proven to be somewhat buggy with the HDR creation. CS2 fails to properly produce the file output with some images while HDRShop and CS2 seem to output completely different images with CS2 generally producing better HDR images.
- It's hard to make people dissappear, thus producing artifacts in the Arc De Triomf images.
- The Berlin forced perspective shot needs some Digital Manipulation to remove background people. Because of the people in the background, the shot itself is obviously a depth trick. The depth should look fairly accurate without them (look at the feet of the giant and the location of the bottom of the box, little if any manipulation needs to be done to make it believable).
