What IMAGES were used ( PREFER SIZES of about 400x300)?

  • Provide some info about layers, plates, how these were merged in SHORT. Some description of pipleline too,

Many images were used to create my final product. These were the base images utilized to create my morphs:

Also after the morphing was created an image sequence is set up in order to produce video files. The image below of the Mantis Morph shows only a 1/3 of the 50 images that were created from a single morph.

Some Process photos since the last update:

Regarding the picture of the real lizard, it had to be flipped around in photoshop in order for the morphing of the images to look correct. Not only did it eliminate placement of many dots, but it also eliminated the clipping that occurs when the planes of an image are flipped ontop of each other in such a way that it creates a gap. I tired to get rid of it any way I could without compromising the quality of the morph. The clipping occured in the Animal Cells to Casa Mila Gates morph, and can be seen below in the highlighted region of the image sequence:

Many trials and errors in Premiere yielded my video. In these pictures I am taking out the wacky slide transitions that Irfan dubbed as distracting (dude I DO agree), replacing them with the more natural slide transition, and finally fading out the volume in the end that I could NOT have done by myself (thanks to Jon who saved the day).

SHORT A video created out of morphs of natural influences on Barcelona architecture, in particular Gaudi's work.

DESCRIPTION

This is a piece of video that takes the idea of Naturalism of Barcelona architecture and puts it into easy to understand comparisons. For instance Frank Gehrey's absract fish design for Port Olimpic is first visualized as a goldfish that turns into or morphs the actual structure. Many of Gaudi's architectural works are cited within this video. Some of the structures included are Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, Sagrada Familia, and Park Guell.
Programs used in this creation were Adobe Photoshop, Morpheus, Fantamorph, Adobe Premiere, and the fun-filled world of Microsoft Paint. I have many complaints against Morpheus. It is too choppy, the shareware only allows 5 morphs rather than 30 days, and the limited options of output formats. Fantamorph works much better, and is a beautiful user program- easier to understand. If I were to do this project again I would choose morphs that looked almost nothing like each other. Suprisingly pictures that looked a lot alike already were harder to morph, an example being the Wave. The most successful morphs start far away from each other and either shrink down or grow- the best example of this would be the Lizard.
