PRESENTING RESULTS FOR GROUP Forced Perspective + HDRGroup Members : Jose Caban, Vladimir Urazov, Andrew Knight REQUIRED: CD with all images – Done! Descriptions are given for the later images that combine HDR and Forced PerspectiveArc De TriomfFinal:![]() The above images shows more detail at the Arc De Triomf at night, especially compared to the source images, more information is shown. Source Images: (Merged using Photomax software to create the HDR image): Palace near Placa EspanyaFinal:![]() Source Images: The above images are fixed versions from out second Update, containing far superior alignment Below are images in which we experimented with HDR photographs. Some of the output HDR images are much more blurry than we had hoped because the autoalignment software we had access to did not work as expected. View outside HardRock Cafe Barcelona on July 4thFinal: ![]() Source Images: The above shots were taken by hand, with the intention to blend together into an HDR shot. However, these shots relied on clouds that moved between pictures, causing a very ugly ouput in addition to a blurry alignment, despite the use of semi-manual alignment. Gran Via 2 Mall ceilingThis fairly interesting looking mall just begged to have its picture taken. The originalintent was to make an HDR image of the ceiling of the mall to reflect the vibrance of the design. However, having been taken by hand, neither automatic nor semi-manual rotational and translational alignment resulted in proper alignment. Final: ![]() Source Images: The Mies van der Rohe Barcelona PavilionThe original intent of this photograph was to capture the reflective vibrance of the pavillion. The reflections of sunlight from the outside on the water and glass created a beautiful scene. However, this shot was taken by hand and resulted in somewhat problematic alignment issues. Time was spent to try to both automatically and semi-manually align this image, but in the end it failed to result in a clear, crisp HDR image. Final: ![]() Source Images: Building outside OnixWe began borrowing a tripod to take HDR photographs because the image alignment softwaredid not work as well as we had hoped. Below is a clear HDR photograph that was created with the use of a tripod and HDRSoft. Final: ![]() Source Images: Re:publicHouseOnce we became proficient at creating HDR images, we started experimenting byincluding force perspective in the HDR images. The next four images were taken at the Re:publicHouse, a restaurant/bar located within five to ten minutes walking distance from Onix. While eating one evening, we noticed that several classes that other customers had were shaped exactly the same but were various sizes. In this first image, we attempted to make a one pint glass(right) look the same size as a half pint glass(left). Final: ![]() Source Images: Are all three of these glasses pints, half pints, or a combination of both? Final: ![]() Source Images: Because HDR images require several images that do not very other than lighting and aperture, we planned on using inanimate objects for the HDR/Force Perspective images. The chess pieces at the Re:publicHouse combined with the dark atmosphere provided a decent setting to achieve the intended effect. Final: ![]() Source Images: Final: Source Images: More Deliberate HDR/FP ImagesForce perspective images that include HDR proved to be difficult to setup becausewe did not have complete control of the environment in which we were taking the photographs. So, we created a couple HDR/Force Perspective images in our room at Onix where we could spend as much time as we desired making sure the positioning and lighting would produce the intended effect.
