Explaining HW4 Grades and Final Project Rubric
HW4 Grades are now posted in WebCT. Next to it, you will find an "explanation" column with three numbers in it.
- Your grade on the quality, clarity, and correctness of your code out of 25. (Most common reason for "15" – doing correlation AND t-test AND/OR ANOVA just doesn't make sense.)
- The match between your code and what you SAID you were doing in your paper, out of 10.
- The quality of your paper, out of 65.
The quality rubric is broken down like this. We will use this same rubric (roughly) for evaluating your final paper and your final project presentation! Make sure that your presentation includes these components for full credit.
5 points each for:
- clearly stating the hypothesis
- identifying the IV and DV
- explanation of operational definitions of IV and DV
- explanation of face and construct validity for IV and DV
- need for and relevance of control group
- discussion of generalization
- explanation of methodological approach
10 points each for:
- presentation of relevant descriptive statistics
- presentation of graph(s)
- presence of relevant inferential statistics
There is some wriggle room for quality of writing.
