Due by Wed. of finals week:
Write a paper, 10-15 pages long, double spaced, critiquing LBD and/or SMILE and offering pointers for either (a) revision of LBD, as explained in "Putting a Learner-Centered Learning-By-Design Curriculum into Practice: Lessons Learned", (b) revision of SMILE, or (c) articulation of the ways one might integrate SMILE into project-based classrooms. Or choose some piece of LBD or SMILE to focus on. Do check with me (JLK) about your choice if you want to do that.
As you write,
Consider the readings from this term including Dynamic Memory, How People Learn, the Campione and Brown paper, and Marin Simina's thesis.
Use those to identify LBD's or SMILE's strengths and weaknesses.
Identify how to deal with the weaknesses.
