01/08/03 - Cynthia Morneweck entry
Ron, Matt, Russ, Cynthia met with Wendy Newstetter to get her help in guiding the data collection process that is needed to determine how the technology should be leveraged. She will use her resources which include her class of students and her associations with the biomedical researchers on Tech campus to help focus the initial efforts.

Matt and Russ are creating a document to help Wendy (and Cynthia) discuss the technical aspects with others.

01/14/03 - Cynthia Morneweck entry
Cynthia attended the first Newstetter class on 01/13/03. It was an interesting group of students with fairly diverse backgrounds. They are all struggling with the concept of ethnography. They are asking very good questions and it was reassuring.

01/22/03 - Matt Sanders entry
Matt is working on an NSF RR proposal with Ron, the systems group, and
other campus groups (ME, Chem, Physics) ... no Bio PIs. This is an
equipment grant, and will fund large pipes between these groups as well as our external links to ORNL, I2, and the Bioring. In addition there will be a cluster computing resource between these entities forming the begining of a campus micro-grid.

01/28/03 - Cynthia Morneweck entry
Cynthia attended another Newstetter class and presented the biogrid project idea. Two students have shown an interest. These students will be sent an "idea writeup" and some potential high level questions for them to consider.
