Women's Overnight (Sunday, March 8- Monday, March 9)
Hey girls,
Our first women's overnight is this Sunday/Monday! So far we've had three girls respond and I've matched them all up to three of you. Here they are:
Haritha Viravalli is paired up with Bhavna Mahadevan.
Madhuri Tondepu is paired up with Donna Yoo.
Margaret (Maggie) Markey is paired up with Katie Collins, will not be there for most of Monday.
I promise that those who didn't get girls this time around will get first priority at the April event. We usually get more girls at the April event.
Here's the prelim schedule:
Sunday:
2pm-4pm The girls will have women's reception at the Student Success Center
4pm-5pm Bhavna, Donna, and Katie can meet up the girls at the Success center so they can go to their dorms and leave their lugguage, get settled in etc.
5pm-7pm We all meet up at the College of Computing Commons and split off into three groups to tour Georgia Tech with each girl. I figure it's better in small groups, so there won't be any initial awkwardness and a variety of opinions and insights.
7pm-9pm We all meet together again at the College of Computing Commons, break off into cars for dinner. I counted the number of cars we have and the number of people going. We should have space for all. Could Nikea, Allison, and Donna confirm with me that they are driving?
For dinner, we were having some budget issues so Jennifer and I decided on Mary Mac's Tea Room. In case you guys dont' know about it. It's a historic Southern restaurant located in Midtown. It says street parking available.

9pm-Midnight Meet at Hemphill activity room for ice cream, baking, socialization and board games! Bring whatever you think would be fun! Especially Techopoly! :P
Monday:
8-9am: Meet at Einsteins for breakfast @ student center
9-10am: Monica's CS1315 class (Klaus 1443)
10-10:30am: Tour the CoC (basement and 1st floor)
10:30-2pm: research with lunch in between (still waiting to hear from researchers so I can solidify this bit... if that doesn't work, we'll tour Klaus & TSRB)
2-3pm: Q&A at the CoC with more desserts!
Unless it specifies that you're supposed to be there alone with your girls, we're all meeting in groups for these events. It's fine if you can't make it because of class, but I would like there to be a group of supportive women for most of the time. :)
For the dinner, if you can't make it, please let me know so we don't have to wait or leave you behind.
W@CC will bear the cost for dinner, breakfast and lunch.
My number is (646) 945 6327 if you need to reach me during the event.
Email me with questions! Thanks.
