  • important: if you make any changes to any pages, make sure you download the most recent copies off the dev/ server first, then make your changes to that file. that way you're not overwriting past changes (I know I had already fixed this throughout the entire site)

• fixed positioning of Close Window button on second page of menu31/impar tutorial (don't know why it was moved to begin with)

    • The first is the poster with the text wrapping around it with the "Click Image To Play Movie" image.
    • The second is just the poster and title image, no "Click Image To Play Movie". I think this looks a little better, but then the directions on how to view the movie are not present and you lose a little site continuity.

  • I need a list of each movie and its original page so that I can provide the correct links
  • FYI, I changed the name of all jlk_LBD files on our dev/ and porduction server to jlkLBD so it reflects our naming convention. Just to let you know so you don't overwrite or upload files and wonder why they're not working

• I see there are some new movies uploaded to the dev/ server. as I asked before, I need to know the exact file names of ANY files uploaded to the dev/ server so that I can keep my development files current. if you don't tell me, I won't know. Which files have you recently uploaded?

• search functionality
  • so far, everything I've found has been server-side based which requires an Internet connection
    • there were multiple free search engines that you could include in your page that I found, but each one again requires an Internet connection and also adds a banner to the results page (NOT professional). The cgi script that I was working with would only run online and only when loaded into the cgi server on Tech's campus
    • I posted a thread to Dreamweaver's forums board asking for more information
    • I just found a tool that allows local search on one's computer and says it can be integrated into HTML and local-cgi easily (http://www.afsearch.com/). I'm looking more into this
      • AFSearch seems to work great, however, it has limited functionality until it is unlocked by paying for a distribution Licence (which various in price depending on how many people are to be distributed to), Their site gives full detail on this if you want to check it out.
    • found a javascript version at (http://www.javascript.freeuk.com/index.html). Seems a bit long and excessive, I will look into more javascript-based implementations as we already know they work both online and on CD (popup window, etc.)

• will get a disk from CNS tomorrow with the newest Tech build of Perl interpreter to make compiling easier
