1. Pages that I've uploaded today: 2-2. There is a problem on the 2-2 page, when I click on the two PDF documents at the bottom of the page, they do not open. The only thing that happens is that Finder opens up the folder where the document resides. This is not what used to happen. Can you see if there is a code change.
2. Even up the right-hand size of the teal and purple navigation bars. I still see that they are uneven.
3. Add Crane to the purple bar of all pages within the second tab, and then add the Crane pages that we talked about on 8.20.04.
4. Add bookBag.mov to page ...designTasks/shoppingBag/designLesson/index.html.

1. Please take a screen shot of a non-nonsense page from DITC. The current page is okay, if the text made sense! Make a screen shot and swap art.
2. After a better version of this page is in place, place a hover command over the following areas: the movie window, over the paragraph immediately following the page's red title, over the PDF images near the bottom of the page.
3. Please place the following text either above or to the left of the page's image: Move your cursor over the page shown to find out more about content you can expect from DITC's page layout.

I have been updating the format of the site map, and will be doing an update of the pages themselves. I need help with the following:
a. Please make the right side of the three blue tabs curved, like the left side of each tab.

For Dung - Review All Timeline Pages
1. Basically need to be made uniform. With parachute and cardboard chair, have pages with 2 movies place the 2 movies side-by-side below the Timeline, and flush right – to the right-hand edge of the page, which will leave room for text. Pages that need work:
2-3-2-1 Move both movies so that are flush right with timeline right
2-3-2-2 Move movie slightly right and up so that text does not separate movie from timeline.
2-3-2-3 Movies should be side-by-side, over to right.
2-3-2-4 Needs cChair4a.mov to left of existing movie, and move both over to the right, aligned with Timeline's right side.
2. Movies that are missing: Cardboard Chair Days 4,5,7. Movie titles are easy: cChair4a.mov, cChair4b.mov, cChair5a.mov, etc.

1. In Design Brief (3-2-1), I think the paragraph of text should have a start/stop paragraph code before and after the text. This will give one more space between the text and the icons. Also, the highlight color of the thumbnail image of the page, after an item is select, is teal in Winter Gloves, and gray for the rest. I think that Teal is better than gray.

1. Arrange pairs of movies in Shopping Bag Video Timeline so that they are side-by-side, and not above one another.
2. Drop bottom row of images on Cardboard Chair Video Timeline navigation tool (everything below the circles that read Day 1, Day 2, etc).
3. Correct the HTML art on the lower right-hand edge of the comparison graphic on page designProcess/teachStrat/classDemos.html.
4. Need a new page for Primacy/Recency Effect within the Learning/Cognitive Science folder.
5. Copy the same graphic on page 3-3-2 to 3-3-3.

3. Clean up file structure for Getting Started folder. (When you have time, do this to the other folders, but for now, let's get this one completed):
3a. Please change all index.html pages so that each is unique. Here's a sugggested formula to follow: add the folder name from in which the item is located to the beginning of the file name. For instance, within the gettingStarted folder is an index.html page. This should be renamed to gettingStartedIndex.html. The index page within the profPlanner folder should be profPlannerIndex.html.
3b. Clean up any misnamed or poorly named folders within GettingStarted, and then other tasks. Ask me what to call the folder if it's not obvious.
3c. Delete any obsolete folders or files – the "gettingStarted > math" folder has been replaced by "gettingStarted > teacherHighlights > mathHighlights", so delete the former folder. As another example, within Parachute's folder, there are two Video Timeline folders.
4. Catch up on filing the editing pages you finish. I believe that a few changes to the Home page did not get done – please check on the most recent 0-1 edits that I gave to you – semicolons in last paragraph needed to be changed to commas. Don't know if other changes were done/got lost/never got to you.

Under Movie List, have a sorting by name of participants. Here is a short list of names: Woodie Flowers, Ed Goldman, Gary Benenson, Mike Hacker, David Gordon Wilson, Janet Kolodner, Bernie Zubrowski, etc.

1. When I did a search for: how chairs work, I came up with pages that no longer are part of the site; e.g., DITC/gettingStarted/keyFeatures/keyConceptsH.html. This page has other links in the Teal navigation bar. Should clean up and toss unused pages – check the directories for such stragglers.
2. Why does the search program take as long to load as it does. I do not see this with other websites?
3. Could the search results display a 1-sentence description of the page it retrieves? If doable, how would that be programmed?

1. Some rollover images in the filmstrips on pages "DITC/gettingStarted/index.html" and "DITC/designTasks/index.html" move a bit. Please correct roll-overs. Check other filmstrips. Also, upload the version to the website where there is no extra space between items.
2. Clean up the pagees associated with Cardboard Chair Timeline as much as you are able. Send me notes about gaps - like text that refers to 3 movies when there are only two on the page.
3. Scan all of the new Goldman documents and include in the website where you think they belong. Ask me questions where the proper place is not clear.

1. Regarding the artwork for the gold bar, at the far right. Please round off corners of the art.
2. Site Map - Change this so that we have the gold section across the page, then the Home page centered in the next line, and then three vertical columns for the three tabs, and their contents indented below each. Use the graphic of the three tabs for the three titles, Getting Started...
3. Please tell me which pages have bad movies – for instance I found that in the Biggest Not Best page, the movie was a black, blank screen.
4. Wrong movie on index page of parachute task – should be parOverV.mov.
5. On the production site, which holds the latest version, the gold color is not uniform. Show me what you do to fix this.

1. I was not able to change the "2. Select Design Tasks" to "Select Design Task" on the Home page. Please show me how to do this.
2. Please change the titles of pages noted in the text frame at the bottom of the Home page (found in the html pages in the "StartPage" folder). Drop the quotation marks, and make the page names into links.
3. On the index pages for the three main tabs, drop the teal navigation bar has reappeared. The teal bar should only be used when needed.
4. I wrote the text for the Getting Setting index page, and have put it in a MSWord file entitled "additionalDITCtext" in the "devFiles" folder. Sorry for the phone message – I forgot to tell you about this when I had finished it around noon.
5. At the top of the new Home page, the gold/orange gold color do not match. Please check that this is the only occurence of this problem.
6. In pages where the "Learn About Design" tab is selected, in the purple navigation bar area, please swap the two items in the second row – Assessment with Other Design-Related Tasks. I've put them in this new order in the Home page.
7. Update the WebLinks page with text (and graphics where appropriate from the document "DesignReport.doc" in devFiles.
8. Can you make the colored fonts in the SiteMap the same color, but darker? Also, there is a double HOME : HOME on this page. Check around to see if this error appears elsewhere.
9. Changing movie names in HTML code: jlkLBD.mov (which you see in the Intro to LBD page) should be renamed as introLBD.mov, and should still be played at the "designTasks/parachute/lbd/lbd.html". I've changed the code in the dev site on page "designTasks/parachute/index.html" so that it plays the movie that used to be introLBD.mov and now is called parOverV.mov. Please make sure you download these pages, and the index.html for the whole site, and the entire contentes of the "StartPage" folder.
10. Scan the picture of my Advisory Board, and include it with a note of thanks in the About DITC page.
11. We are going to be adding more activities to the site over the next month. Make recommendations to me for ways to display/access 5-6 more design task titles. We're going to be editing lots of footage in the next month with this goal in mind – the next two items will be "Machines That Help" and "Vehicles In Motion".
12. On the Movie List/Compare page, include a third way to organize the list of movies – "Movies Made To Compare". This is where the background color separating different groups of movies should be used. Make this selection as the default for entering this page.

i like the dual screen.
the links from the page "full size chair" to "key concepts" and t "investingating paper structures" took me to parachute info rather than chair stuff.
(for what its worth, i did not do the paper tower this year and i don't think it was a loss.)
There is no link from that chair page directly to the other chair stuff (which if still there is hard to find, though i didn't spend lots of time looking.) It's not clear that there is a time line and more stuff from that page.
the bridge stuff is very nice. i enjoyed it and learned from it.
the teacher makes a very nice definition/distinction between design in technology and inquiry/problem solving in science. that's worth putting up somewhere prominently maybe, somewhere?
I also liked the way you did the "using different strategies" video with the highlight of the strategies overlaid over the photo images. good job.
It might be nice to indicate somewhere the ages or grades of the students in each segment (or did I miss that?)
I'll keep looking as time permits.

3. I've put the three index pages to the three main navigation tabs on your desk. Please suggest ways to make them look more uniform than they are now. Look both globally and at details to give a greater sense of uniformity for these critical pages.
12.3.03a
1. Organize the titles for movieList.html according to "List By Title" or "List By Topic". Clean up the titles with ALL CAP phrases like "THIS CLIP NOT LIKE OTHER ONES" and "MORE DETAIL".
2. Change titles to something closer to the title that appears in the beginning of the movie. For example: "Paper Bridge Challege: Female Team" should become "Female Team's Final Triple-Load Bridge".
3. Remove old movies and old pages. For example:
4. Drop the phrase "Compare Movies" on the graphic for a movie screen. Make drop shadow go off below the frame and to the right. Make the frame smaller in height so that we can do not need a scroll bar on the right. This is a big goal.
5. Organize those movies for comparison with a colored background behind them. Have a message appear below the scrolling field with movie titles that reads: " Movies within colored background were made for video comparison." The background color should be the same as the color of this message.
