11.18.03
1. Follow the links on the "...designProcess/teacherResources/webResources.html" page, and write a 1-2 sentence description of the site for this page. Show me the results when you finish.
11.15.03
1. Get this article in pdf format from GaTech online services: Duschl, R.A., & Gitomer, D.H. (1991). Epistemological perspectives on conceptual change: Implications for educational practice. Journal of Research in Science Teaching, 28(9), 839-858.
2. Can we directly save compressed movies from TiVo to the computer? Can they directly be put into a website?
11.13.03
Find out if you can transfer the compressed files (movies) from hybrid recorders to computers. The goal is easy placement of logged movies onto a website.
11.11.03
1. Find out what you need to know to make a recommendation on whether to use Bluetooth or WiFi.
11.2.03
1. Copy of article in Cognition 21, 177-237
10.23.03
Search for llinks relevant to other design curricula that can be found in Dan Householder's document "NSF Projects in Tech Ed".
10.11.03
Find all TVs shows currently running (including in the UK) that have design as a theme, as a context for a competition, etc. Also include specials. In addition to other search methods, I'd like you to contact the Museum of Television and Radio in New York City to see what sorts of catalogs we might have access to on-line, or in person.
8.24.03
1. Find copy of article done by Crismond and Wilson in the 1992 IEEE Advanced Learning conference publication.
2. Look at NPR's website (www.npr.org) and get all shows that have audio archive with interviews with designers. For example, Terry Gross' "Fresh Air" program had inventor Dean Kamen on the August 22 03 show. Do searches through the Fresh Air site, and look for other programs that might have such interviews. I want to collect interviews that teachers could listen to of designers talking about their craft.
