Issues left to handle:

1. remote platform
2. default platform (maybe other default values, too)
3. frequency="24" units="hours" timeAxisFrequency="1" timeAxisUnits="days" timeName="time" (attributes of output files)
4. compile/run/execute commands for experiment
5. initial conditions (under input to component? or are these at experiment level?)
6. path list - files to compile
7. link queues to commands somehow (maybe this is specified on the command line–queue should not affect results)
8. coupling fields (PMIOD)

1. variable vs. field (terminology)
2. why are compile/production/regression commands (under experiment) platform specific?
