Posting Mathematical Models
The way I post mathematical models is to create them in word using the equation editor and then save the word file as a web page. This process creates a subfolder with the name of the word file that contains a lot of number gif files. If you click on the numbered gif files you will see that many of them correspond to your equations.
Important!! rename those files to something more meaningful, because if you do not then after they are uploaded someone else can overwrite them with files of the same name. I would strongly suggest that you use something like your initials followed by the equation type.
Note also that uploads are now attached to PAGES unless you define the attachment otherwise, this means that name clashes are much less likely. I still think it is a good idea to rename the equations but it is not as critical as it was.
The renamed gif equation files can then be uploaded to the site and the comments and other text added around them. NOTE this is highly preferable to the alternatives of either just uploading the word file, because that is then just a link to download the file and cannot be easily shared, or copying and pasting the html generated by word. The html generated by word is truly ugly and may not work since it uses a lot of specialized tags, including some xml.
