Flights/Mentors Information

2004 Airport Arrivals

Instructions:

1. Visiting students, we are requesting that you plan to arrive in Atlanta on Thursday (3/25/04) early A.M. (i.e., 8-9:00 A.M.) to give us time to shuttle you from the airport to our campus and check you into the hotel before starting the events planned for you on Thursday. Barbara Binder (binder@cc.gatech.edu) will make your airline reservation for you. Please get in touch with her ASAP so that you can discuss arrival/departure preferences. You will return to the Atlanta Airport on Sunday morning for your flight home. If you give us a little
information about the areas you are interested in (HCI, Graphics, Theory, Information Security, etc.) we will try to match you up with a mentor from your area, as well as your hotel roommate.

2. Mentors, pick a person who you will be in charge of picking up and returning to the airport, hopefully one who is interested in your area of study. This year, we will again use MARTA to transport students from the airport to their hotel (Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center).

3. Please add 3-4 faculty members you'd like to meet with during your visit.
There will be three slots available for meetings. We will try our best to meet your requests.

NOTE: Mentors will be added for you by area.

Pickup Info:

Due to security restrictions, mentors will be unable to meet arriving students directly at their terminal. Each mentor and student should arrange a place to meet. We suggest the Atrium or the top of the escalator. See the Map for info.

Hotel Info:

Roommates will be assigned by research areas of interest. Private rooms are not encouraged, unless absolutely necessary for reasons you will be required to explain.

Rooms have been reserved at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center located at 800 Spring Street, NW, Atlanta, GA. This hotel is locatd on campus. There will be Georgia Tech Trolley service provided from the Midtown MARTA Station - which is on the North Line. The Trolley will take you directly to the Hotel.
