MARTA: Recommended
How to get to Midtown Station:
- Tech Trolley: The Tech Trolley runs from 10:00 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays and 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Sundays. The trolley that goes to MARTA stops very close to the hotel, on the same side of the street, just in front of the Great Clips haircut place. It runs every half hour or so, and takes about 5 minutes to get to the Midtown MARTA station from the hotel. The Trolley typically stops at the MARTA station for 5-10 minutes, so it shouldn't be too hard to miss the stop.
- Walking: Probably faster than the trolley on a Sunday. You can also walk to the North Avenue station, which is about a 3 block walk. To get there, head east on 5th street and walk until it dead ends onto West Peachtree. Turn right onto West Peachtree heading south and go two blocks until you reach the Shops of Midtown (you'll see a bunch of white globes). Go into the shops and you'll see signs pointing you to MARTA.
Once you're at MARTA:
- You may purchase tokens for $1.75 at machines near the station. Note that these are cash only! They don't give receipts for this, but you can still claim it for reimbursement.
- Take the Southbound train headed to the Airport. The Airport stop is the last one on the North/South line and sits there for about 5-10 minutes, so it's pretty hard to miss. If you are on Delta, you can check in right next to the MARTA station.
- Trains typically come every 15-20 minutes, and it takes about 30 minutes to get into the airport. Take this into consideration when you go to make your flight.
- MARTA starts running at 5:30 a.m. and stops at about 1:00 a.m. each night.
"The Link" Airport Shuttle
The hotel has an airport shuttle that stops by every 45 minutes or so. It costs $18 for a one way trip to the airport, so if you’re uncomfortable taking the subway or walking to the subway alone, or if you are leaving really early in the morning, we suggest this option. This runs from 6:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and takes about 45 minutes to get to the airport. You pay for your ticket on the bus, and be sure to ask for a receipt.
Taxi Cab:
If you're leaving really, really early or need to get there quickly, you may take a taxi cab. This option is also recommended if you share a ride with other students, so as to defray the cost a bit. Taxis cost about $32 to get to the airport, plus tip. The number for one taxi company is 404-245-1598, or you may ask the front desk for more information. Be sure to get a receipt.
