If you get lost or stranded at anytime, please call any of the graduate office coordinators listed on the main coweb page.
Check the table below for the student volunteer who has signed up to meet you at the airport. Please make sure you know where to meet your student volunteer(s), and who you are looking for (define location and time, exchange pictures, describe clothing, and/or have volunteers carry something specific like a GaTech flag).
If, for some reason, you cannot find your volunteer or one has not signed up for you, please take a cab to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center on 5th and Spring Streets. Save your receipt, and you will be reimbursed.
To email your volunteer graduate student, append cc.gatech.edu to the end of the email address listed (i.e. name@cc.gatech.edu).
If you have a cell phone, please give your student volunteer the number.
You can find a map of the Atlanta Airport here. The Atrium, where you should meet your grad student volunteer, is located in center of the Main Terminal (Map here)
Email or call your student and arrange to meet at the airport main terminal Atrium. (Give them a picture of you, or some other identifying characteristic...what you'll be wearing, etc.). Take them to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, via car or MARTA - save recepits for parking/MARTA tokens and you will be reimbursed.
They might not be able to get into their hotel room right away, so you might suggest to them to check their luggage at the hotel desk, and go across the street to Starbucks/Barnes and Noble and hang out there. Or, you can take them to your lab and show them around.
Their first scheduled event on Thursday is dinner at Vortex. If they are arriving before the Vortex event, tell them to be in the lobby of the hotel at 6:50pm and wait for Julie Kientz to take them to Vortex. If they're arriving right around 7pm or slightly later, please take them to the Vortex as they arrive. This is your responsibility.
Ideally, you'll be in the same area as the student you're picking up.
For blocks with multiple students, up to the # of students of volunteers are needed. PLEASE make sure if you're taking your car, make sure your car has enough room for the students you are picking up and their luggage.
If you have a cell phone, please give your student(s) the number.
