Where are the good places to shop in Atlanta? Where are the malls located, which stores are there, and what is the atmosphere like? What about smaller, independent places to shop too? List them all! Include maps, directions, addresses, phone numbers, or websites where available.

Atlantic Station: Brand-spanking new outdoor mall very close to Georgia Tech. Lots of your typical mall shops, plus good restaurants, a movie theater, and lots of neat apartments. IKEA is nearby too!

Little 5 Points has a lot of unique, independently owned shops, like Junkman's Daughter.

My husband and I tend to drive up to Duluth, GA for our serious shopping trips (CostCo, Kohl's, Super Target, a large mall... car dealerships, restaurants). This shopping area is outside the perimeter (I-285). From downtown Atlanta, head north on I-85 to Steve Reynolds Blvd, turn left over the highway (to get to Costco, Kohl's, and Target).

Sometimes, we go to Cumberland Mall. From downtown, head north on I-75 to Cumberland Blvd. Turn left across the highway. Turn right on Cobb Pkwy/Highway 41. This is located near the perimeter.

Sometimes we head North on 400 to Perimeter Mall. There's a Costco up that way too.

Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza are in the Buckhead area (inside the perimeter). Lenox has a Mac store. That's a fun place to go. From downtown, head north on 85, exit on 400, take the first exit and turn right (you'll be on lenox road). The easiest way to get to the mall is to head accross Peachtree on Lenox and turn right into the parking ramp. Or if you don't have car, you can take the subway north to Lenox station.
