What does it mean to be alive? Explore movement, sensors, and behaviors as we create with 3D animations and build robots to simulate different types of animal behaviors such as foraging for food, seeking shelter, fleeing from harm, and hunting. Students will work with 3D animation concepts such as motor planning, sensing other objects in the simulation, point of view, and conditional statements. Students will also design and build robotic "creatures" with movement and sensing systems using the Lego NXT robotics kits.
Students will create algorithms and sequences to model animal behaviors such as aggression, hunting, fleeing, and seeking
Students will create animations in Alice 3D environment
Students will build NXT Robots to simulate animal movements and behaviors
Students will use sensors to have robot react to environmental stimulus.
