We started this assignment by creating a basic canvas in Visualworks. Then one member Googled for reference images or any kind of graphics related to prison, being a prisoner, prison maps, etc. As a CMer, and not speaking for the whole group, I'd say this was one of the more fun and creative milestones.
We designed the background for our GUI first:
bars.bmp
Then a group member created a couple logos in Photoshop, sticking with the second one for our final turn in.
gameLogo.bmp
gameLogo2.bmp
Then after several attempts at making a map, we came up with these ideas and used the latter two. The map was somewhat difficult because there are practically no Google images of prison maps, even for prison games. But luckily one group member came up with a very practical map to use, and another used her prison knowledge from watching Gangland on History Channel to name the rooms :). Note: you can click on the last image to see a larger image and the names of the rooms.

A couple extra images were created but not used, like the following key image:

All the while we were coding to try to get everything to work. This milestone was the one that lasted the longest since we were working on it up until dead week, but over time the UI starts to look better and better.
