Can my group have its own Swiki? Can pages be made readable only to my group?

Unfortunately, no and no.

The Swikis at the College of Computing are hosted by a group of less than five people. (It's mostly just Je77 Rick.) We can barely handle the load of 100 classes, let alone 500 student groups.

The best suggestion we can make is to go to a Swiki hosting service, like http://www.swiki.net (<-hijacked expired domain!) and get your own (free!) Swiki.

You can also run the software on your own machine. It's freely available at http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/swiki.

Swiki pages cannot individually be made readable only by password. A whole Swiki can be made protected, but not individual pages. Individual pages can only be made locked for editing.
