Our Adventure game was completed with a fairly clean design. However, a few small areas could have been improved.
- The Parser - our text parser did not recognize commands as rules, but rather matched exact text. This makes it slightly harder to expand the grammar for commands in the text window. It would be more robust to use a rule matcher and add all the rules in the parser's constructor.
- Containment - it can be really beneficial to a group to realize early on that almost everything is a container in some sense. With the exception of containers vs. surfaces, rooms, characters, players, and objects could all be reasonable containers. Some kind of container class might have helped. At any rate, this was one aspect that could have used a little more consideration.
