Questions?

Are we gonna get a study session before midterm 2? (pretty please?)

I don't know. The TA's are pretty whumped right now. Running a study session is a voluntary thing. I think you'll have to ask questions here, come to office hours, and (gasp!) come ask questions at lecture! (shudder!) :-) Mark Guzdial

Let me remind you of Statement on Acceptable Behavior. Mark Guzdial

question about the final..if you have lecture at 3 on MWF then is the final going to follow the finals schedule on Oscar that states our exam is monday from 8-10:50? I am asking because I am in a wedding on that date and was wondering if I could take the final with the MWF lecture 1pm class

Send me email, and we can make arrangements. In general, we'll follow the finals schedule. Mark Guzdial

Will we be getting our mid-terms back on Friday again this time? Or is it too soon to promise that, with the TAs being whumped?

Definitely not by Friday. We won't be doing a marathon grading session this time. Instead, TA's will be getting individual problems to grade over the weekend. Grades will be up on Monday, and I'll have the exams back to you on Wednesday. Mark Guzdial

Could y'all (Mr. Guzdial and any TA's) step up the postings on the midterm review question pages? Please. Most of my posting have gone un-answered and they have been up for a while.

I just answered everything this afternoon. I don't answer correct answers, typically. Mark Guzdial

Why is the review so freaking long? 18 review questions? It's taking me forever...

Perhaps starting the night before was a bad idea? I put it up over a week ago... Mark Guzdial

Heh, well the first review didn't take that long, so I thought the second one would be short also. Go me! ;[ But you added SIX extra problems though, that's a whole a lot.

HE MAN VS LEOnardo(the ninja turtle)..
u guys are saving my study guide.

Wow, I agree some student postings (notably those of Jeff Baker and Greg Leo) really helped me out. Thank you! #12

That wasn't too bad.

The mid-term review was considerably harder than the actual thing. There is a such thing as getting us prepared and then there's overkill...

i did ok i think except i couldnt remember domain name server...i put something lame like server name protocol. but hey thats 2 words out of 3 so i should get 2/3 credit wink wink

why bother with the review if its going to be 20 questions and then only put the 3 hardest on the test...seems like a waste of study time and doesnt give much motivation to do the review for the final.

I don't have a problem with the review being so involved. It's not there to give us the questions that will be on the test, but to give us a chance to work with the concepts that will be tested. If you can do the stuff that's on the review, you know you can handle what will be tested.

oooh, sounds like a ta in disguise who wrote the last comment...the test really wasn't that bad, but the review could have been shorter because a lot of the concepts were absent from the exam

I guess professor Guzdial wanted us to know all that stuff that was on the review EVEN if most of them weren't going to be on the exam.

Definitely a TA in disguise....for sure!

lol...I love all the guessing going on...you could just look at the history of the page and see who did it...ah-well.

Do you all think that the test was the 3 hardest problems from the review like that comment above says?

ok, so the last comment was a TA in disguise. But I don't think the earlier ones were. I'm interested to see what ya'll thought of the test. Lauren Biddle

I thought the test was fine. It wasn't that hard!

The test was better then I thought it would be, though I'll reserve final comment until I see my grade. I was a little confused by the second question on the 1:00 midterm, asking us to swap variables around. I'm pretty happy with how long it was, compared to the last one. Seeing how many people were finishing by 15 or ten till, I think the length was a lot better for everyone.

The length was perfect for the time alloted

sure was
