Questions, Comments, Complaints

No comments? Boring week?

I had a nice break. Sleep is caught up now. Ready for CS. Bring it on.

I had a nicer break than I should have - I'll be up late tonight. Not because of CS though.

What a great place to put questions that sometimes end up in the Soapbox!

Yes, it is reasonable to have the take home exam graded. TA's tell me that they'll have it done by tomorrow (10/17). Don't worry about deleting uploads. We can delete older versions of files later, but in general, disk space is too cheap to worry about deleting. Mark Guzdial

What's the best way to get print-outs of the new book pieces?

Print them? What do you mean? They won't be sent to the bookstore – we can't get them printed now. You can always just print the pages you want, or read them on your computer screen. Mark Guzdial

I hope our midterm is not going to be too difficult. I am having some trouble with the review. You wouldn't be that cruel would you Guzdial?

You've got a week to get a handle on the review. Yes, the midterm will be like the review. Mark Guzdial

Again answering things in the Soapbox...

Take home exam grades are due TODAY. If they're not there by tomorrow, drop me email and I'll investigate. Mark Guzdial

Swing (the Java tools for building graphical user interfaces) is built into Jython, and thus, JES. Any book on Jython will show you how to build windows, text areas, lists, and buttons. Mark Guzdial

are we having a review session like last time?

can someone post the sound thisisatest.wav, it isn't in our Mediasources folder. this would really help us to test our programs
It's on the Midterm Review – I posted it already. Mark Guzdial

I hope the mid-term this time will reflect the amount of time we have to take the exam - this includes the questions people ask at the beginning of class.
I'm certainly trying. Mark Guzdial

can we assume that there won't be any programming questions on drawing or chromakey

or adding text
No, you shouldn't assume that. It's part of this part of the term. Mark Guzdial
