Word Lab Questions- Spring 2008

Ask Word Lab questions here.

I dont understand what the ASCII diagram is supposed to look like once it has been re-sized. Can you post what it is supposed to look like?
The ASCII diagram should look much the same as it did before, except with a text box around it. In other words, make sure there is no extraneous line-wrapping or other truncation of the original layout -Buck Scharfnorth
Where do we turn in our labs? Eventually on T-Square assignments?
Yes. I'll open those assignments tomorrow. Thanks! Brittany Duncan

When it says "insert a page break" before the ASCII diagram, does this mean there should be an entire blank page in between that and the last thing written on the page?
No, it means that the ASCII diagram should be on a page by itself. Thanks! Brittany Duncan

When I run the spell check function on my Word lab, it wants me to change Fortran to FORTRAN. Does that count as a grammatical error, or should I just leave it as Fortran? Thanks!
Both spellings are acceptable. FORTRAN (all caps) is the older spelling, whereas Fortran (lowercase) is now the convention. Check out this footnote for more on this. Joshua Cuneo

When you ask us to insert a page break after the diagram, do you want there to be an extra blank page following the page with the diagram? That is what word is doing. Thanks.
This question has already been posted above. Joshua Cuneo

The ASCII diagram is not showing up in normal view, is that normal?
The ASCII diagram is just text, so it should show up in normal view. If you can't see it, try switching to print view. If you still can't see it, then download the file again. Joshua Cuneo

It says writability is not a word, but writ ability is...so what word should actually be there?
This is one word. If Word doesn't have a one-word alternative, then check a dictionary. Joshua Cuneo

You've said the answer to the question regarding the page break AFTER the diagram has already been posted, but the previous answer is to a question about the page break BEFORE the diagram. Could you please answer the question concerning the page break AFTER the diagram?

Would you like an alternative to "writability", such as "ease of writing"? There really is no "one-word" alternative to a word that doesn't exist.

Also, can we indent the first three paragraphs? It's driving me crazy to leave them as they are...
