Fall 2007 Lab 3 Questions

Post questions here.

Note: If you are using Office 2007, please read the instructions on the Fall 2007 Lab 2 Questions page to save in Office 2003 format. Joshua Cuneo

I dont own Power Point. Do I have to buy Microsoft Office to get it or is there a free trial version or something?
You can use the library computers. Thanks! Brittany Duncan
Or the computers in the Student Center (there's a computer lab across from the Music Listening Room)
Can we go beyond the necessary requirements, or are we constrained to doing exactly and only what is listed we do? Basically, can we add extra elements (flair and such and such) so long as the presentation meets the basic requirements?
You can do whatever you would like, as long as you meet the basic requirements and don't make anything too difficult for the TAs. Thanks! Brittany Duncan

There is a downloadable FREE Office suite called StarOffice that you can use for many purposes instead of MS Office. It includes applications that are analogous to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and you can save files from each in the corresponding Microsoft format. If you choose to use StarOffice instead of MS Office for the 1315 Labs, you must check that the files you generate are readable (i.e. can be opened and look okay) in the corresponding MS products. You could do this by working on your machine using StarOffice, and then taking you files on a USB drive to a library computer for a final check and correction using MS Office. Colin Potts
do we need to site our information sources?
Not formally, but you might mention what websites you used. The last slide could be your list if you wanted it to be. Thanks! Brittany Duncan
do we need to add in a collaboration statement anywhere in our lab?
could we add the collaboration statement in the text box on the assignment page in T-Square if it is needed?
Please do not put anything in the text boxes on T-square. Just put the collaboration statement on the title slide. Thanks! Brittany Duncan
Where on the power point do we include our collaboration statement?
See above. Thanks! Brittany Duncan
