Spring 2007 Lab 2 Questions

What is this step referring to?:
On the new page, Insert the picture you wrote out (using writePictureTo) from the first part of this Lab.

(I am confused what to put on that page because we were not instructed anywhere in the lab to write out a picture)
Its fixed now. - Bobby Mathew

Are those words considered part of the computer and technical terms that are indeed spelled correctly and to be left alone?
I would follow MS words spelling suggestions....;p Toni Walden

Are we supposed to correct the grammatical mistakes as well?
No. - Bobby Mathew

ok, so what is the ASCII thing? is that all the random letters and stuff at the bottom, and how are we supposed to know if it is displayed correctly??
Yes, that means the diagram at the end. It should be on a new page and should look the same before and after putting the text box around it. Then you know its displayed correctly. - Bobby Mathew

when it says make all the headings bold does that mean just the first two lines or the title before each paragraph (i.e. Fortran, Lisp, Algol, etc.)
All of them, Fortran, Lisp etc. - Bobby Mathew

Do we still have to write somewhere our name, prism ID and collaborative statements?
No collaboration statement required for these 2 labs. - Bobby Mathew

what do you mean by "the other part of the lab"?
Oops, I forgot to remove that part when I copied over last semester's lab. Sorry. - Bobby Mathew

Writibility isn't a word, and Word cannot find an accurate word to substitute for it. What should we use?
You can leave that word alone. - Bobby Mathew

When we have a page break before and after the ASCII thing, does that mean it's on its own page AND there is a blank page after it? Thanks!
It means that it should be on a page of its own. There shouldn't be a full blank page after that. - Bobby Mathew

Even though it says... Insert a page break just before the ASCII diagram. / Insert a page break after the ASCII diagram. ?
Ok, I just realized what the confusion was about. Alright, so it doesn't matter if you have a blank page or not after your diagram. But you shouldn't have a full blank page before your diagram. - Bobby Mathew

So do we attach a picture or not for this lab?
No attached pictures. - Bobby Mathew

So, the word "writability" comes up as a mispelling in my MSWord. Is that actually a real word? Am I supposed to change that to something else if not, or just leave it as is?
See similar question above.

Are we supposed to correct grammar too?
No. See similar question above

When we double space the first three paragraphs do you only want one space inbetween each paragraph or the extra that occur when you format it to double space?
Double space everything contained within the first three paragraphs. Amanda Bennett

Maybe I missed something in the assignment for these labs, but do we turn them in by e-mail to our grading TA's? Thanks!
You will turn in all assignments through sakai. Amanda Bennett

When I add a text box arround the ASCII diagram I cannot view the diagram in "normal" display mode, instead I see the two page breaks I inserted surrounding the text box, but no diagram. However, when I view it in "print layout" mode, everything is as it should be: a text boxed diagram on its own page. Do I need to do something so that the diagram can be viewed in "normal" mode? Or is everything as should be?

When I add a text box around the diagram, my cursor won't go below the text box. This is preventing me from adding a page break after the text diagram. How do I make my cursor go below the text box?

Is the author's name considered a heading? Is "Homework" considered a heading?

I know we do not have to have a collaboration statement, but it was not clear if we needed to put our name on the ms word file. If you could clear that up, I would appreciate it.
