Peer Leader (more commonly known as RA) student staff member with Housing at Georgia Tech; in charge of overseeing one floor in a freshmen resident hall on the Georgia Tech Campus. (Began in Jan. 2007).
Internship as a law clerk, Dec. 2003 - Dec. 2004, for the Honorable Judge David Motes, REMOVEDperior Court of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit of Georgia. Duties included retrieving, filing, and summarizing case information, while organizing case notes. I also looked up the specific cases in the law library to establish a precedent for the Judge to cite in his decisions.
Campaign Volunteer: 2000 Mike Beatty for State Senator; 2002 Mike Beatty for Lt. Governor of Georgia; 2002 Sonny Perdue for governor of Georgia. In both campaigns worked as a youth staff at fundraisers and campaign rallies.
Worked as a farmhand in youth; baling hay, feeding cows, bush hogging, ect.
2007-2008 Fellowship at the Center for the Study of the Presidency.
Model European Union 2007, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown. Representing the Head of State of France for Georgia Tech; won 1st place for the Large Country Award.
Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholar (2005); (National competition for high school journalism). Scholarship sponsored by USA Today.
Coca-Cola REMOVED Writers Award (2005). Third Place
Salutatorian for the Class of 2005, Jefferson High School; Jefferson, Ga.
European Union Study Abroad Program; International Affairs courses while visiting European policy sites in Belgium, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland (May-July 2006).
“Towards a Pragmatic Conception of China’s Role in the United Nation’s Oil-for-Food Programme”, (2006). Researched and written for a special topics coarse on Sino-US relations, taught by Dr. John Garver at Georgia Tech (Fall 2006).
Volunteer at MedShare of Atlanta (2006). Sorting unused medical supplies to be shipped to other countries in need of medical supplies.
Member of Emerging Leaders, a leadership program for freshmen at Georgia Tech (2005-2006).
Vice-Chairman of “Youth for Georgia”, a youth led political action organization; state-wide (2003-2005).
Student Exchange Program; lived in Helensburgh, Scotland during the summer of 2003.
