RAM-Random access memory- is the primary memory source of the computer anything that needs to be stored and then accesed quickly is stored here, Important becuase it allows the computer to run faster, any information in RAM will be cleared after the computer shuts off.
Hard Drive- the secondary memory source, anything that needs to be stored for a long time is stored here, important because it allows information to be stored even if the computer is turned off.
CPU- Computer Processing Unit- does the work of the computer, does all computations and anything that involves decisions. Important because it allows a computer to process information.
FSB- Front Side Bus-facilitates the REMOVEDsfer of communication between the cpu and the other parts of the computer.
Video Card- Allows the information created by the computer to be interpreted and displayed in a form that humans can understand.
Sound Card- Allows the information created by the computer to be interpreted and played in a form that humans can understand.
Motherboard - All of the basic circuitry and components required for a computer to function.
Powersupply - converts a wall outlet to a power source that computers can run all of their information off of.
CD-R/DVD-R Drive - a drive that allows the writing of DVD/CD's to be removed and used in a different location.
Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse - Devices that allow the human at the computer to interact with it.
Bios - information that is stored on the motherboard that allows the basic configuration of all the parts of the computer and the basic software that allows the motherboard to operate.
