Pre Quiz 1 Question Page Fall 2006

Prequiz 1 Question Page:

Are the solutions to the prequiz going to be added anywhere? Or are they already up and I'm just missing them...
nope. Solutions will not be posted for the prequiz (or for any other graded assignment). We will go over solutions to the actual quiz and tests after they are graded. if you have questions, we will answer them. but you're welcome to post answers. If they're wrong, the TA's will guide you towards the correct answer. Amanda Bennett

But if the answers are right...we'll likely say nothing at all. Because once we say, "Yeah, that's right," all discussion ceases and everyone memorizes the last answer. If we leave it empty, there's the chance for some student to come along and say, "No, I don't think that's right..." and the ensuing discussion sounds an awful lot like people learning. Mark Guzdial

Will the TA - student pairings page be up soon? During recitation we have two, but for the quiz don't we need to know which one is ours?
It should be up soon, but you can also check your TA on webwork. Just login to http://webwork.cc.gatech.edu and click on 'Profile' and you can see your grading TA. - Bobby Mathew
It is now posted here: TA-Student Pairings -Albert d'Heurle

Is anyone having office hours anytime today or before 12 tomorrow??
I don't think anyone is holding office hours today but I will be in the Coc commons from 2:30pm till about 6 today and I can help you if you have questions. No one has office hours before 12 tomorrow. - Bobby Mathew

on problem 7, are we just suppose to put the new values of the pixels? Like for the 1x1 it would be (20,10,0)???
You have the right idea Toni Walden

When doing the pixel manipulations on problems 7 and 8, should we round down like the book says so? Many of the averages are something like 144.6666 so I just wanted to make sure I was doing those right. Thanks :)
Yes, you should. So, for the number above, the value would be just 144. - Bobby Mathew

Is the quiz going to cover concepts that are not on the practice quiz? - Meghan Lukken
The quiz is quite similar to the pre-quiz. You do have to know the concepts and keywords that are on the slides, but not all the code. The quiz is pretty much the same format and length as the pre-quiz. - Bobby Mathew
