Can we use Mozilla Thunderbird? I currently have that configured and I think it is a lot more customizable/usable than any of the others listed...

Yeah, you can use Thunderbird. And its definitely one of the more usable ones. - Bobby Mathew

Do we include our prism ID or or GT ID in the email messege? The directions say prism ID, but the check list says GT ID. - Student4341

I tried to make a personal Coweb page, but after I entered the username and password it didn't send me to the pg with the large textbox containing "Edit Jenny Sims here". What did I do wrong?

Put your name within the asterisks. The instructions are given at the top of the 'Who's Who' page. - Bobby Mathew

I did it without the asterisks the first time, so now my name is just sitting there with no link. How can I get rid of it?

After I entered username and password( attach/carmen) for editing page I added my name, but editing did not saved because it was locked. It is asking for another password.

Students cannot edit pages that are locked. Typically only TAs and professors can. Which page was it so that we can fix it if we need to? -Student2042

Can you please post the link to the page you are trying to edit. If you are trying to edit the who's who page you need to use the add to to the page box at the botton of the page. -Student2081

And also I downloaded Proventia Desktop 8 for our second part of the lab, and I do not see scan for viruses option, because thats what directions are asking us to do.

You need to download the McAfee virus scan to scan your computer. Proventia is used to set up the firewall options. You don't need to download Proventia to do the assignment. - Bobby Mathew

I used Sptectrum Webmail to acces my email, and I mailed my assignment from there, so can I say that: my client is Spectrum Webmail? If not then what is email client?

I added my name twice, and didn't get a "Create" button next to it both times. Could you remove one (or both) and let me try again?

Or perhaps it just takes a few minutes and then I'll reload the page and see a create button?

When I clicked add to page, it added two versions of my name. I attempted to fix it, but now it just says: Maia REMOVED #3....can you fix this.-Student4474

It's not a HUGE deal. It's there so you did create it. I couldn't fix it though. I could only manage to make it say #2 insead of #3. Albert, can we delete the page entirely from the coweb and have her just try again? Maia, check back for an answer.-Student2042

I changed my spectrum email address as requested in the assignment(Lab 1 - Part 1). Now, when I try to send an email an error message states: There was an error sending your message: Failed to add recipient: cs1315@cc.gatech.edu [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 550, response: : Sender address rejected: User unknown)]

Don't put gt in front of your email address if its not required. If you're a freshman, you probably hava an address like jsmith@mail.gatech.edu. Just use that, don't put 'gt' in front of that. - Bobby Mathew

Reference question above. I am still receiving the same error message despite following your advice. I am a senior and have never changed my address up until this point. Does that have something to do with the error? I am changing my address from a gtg###V@mail.gatech.edu to my first initial, middle initial and last name@mail.gatech.edu.

If you're a senior, I'm sure you've sent emails from your GT account. Just do it the same way, and put cs1315@cc.gatech.edu in your 'To' address. If that doesn't work, then there's some other error. - Bobby Mathew

Reference question above. I use my GT account everyday, however I have never changed the address. When I change the address I get the error message. The assignment says I must change my address..what am I missing here?

I guess don't worry about that, I think that's for first time users only. Just send an email the way you usually do and you should be fine. - Bobby Mathew

I am sorry I guess I repeat others when I ask this question, but my email to have been returned to me, I do not understand what I am doing wrong.

You need to say exactly what address you are sending it to and exactly what address you are sending it from. Also, what e-mail client are you using? -Student2042

I am using this adress to send the email: cs1315@cc.gatech.edu, it was returned to me with eror message.

You need to send TO that address from YOUR email account. That address is who is receiving the email. -Student2042

I have added my name to the box in the bottomadn then clicked add to page, btu the create button never appears by my name. Ive tried thsi three times adn my name jsut appears as regular text, any help?

Put

'*'

around your name. It should be

*name*

and then click 'Add to REMOVED'. - Bobby Mathew

I put my name in the asterisks, and my old page from when i took the class before shows up. the problem is i can't edit. it's locked and they need some password. need some help
