Summer 2006 Lab 2 Questions

Lab 2 Questions Page:

5/23/06 4:36pm There are no assignments listed in the drop down menu "Assignment:" on webwork labelled "Lab 2". Is this something that is not loaded yet, or am I doing something wrong after choosing my two files to add for submission?

It has been fixed. -Blake O'Hare

I just tried to install JES on my computer. I followed the link from the coweb site and clicked on the jes-216.zip link. The file seemed to download normally but when i went to open it i got a message that says: "the compressed folder is invalid or corrupted". This makes me nervous because, after my research on viruses, this seems suspicious and, you know, JES is kind of important for homeworks and labs and passing the course. Anyway, can someone help me with this? Thanks!
Try downloading it from here JES-Albert d'Heurle

how do i put the media source file into JES?
Media sources is a just a folder with a bunch of different kinds of files, including pictures, movies, and sounds. You can extract the folder into the JES folder if you wish or to a different location on your computer. -Albert d'Heurle

OK. So I'm all done with the lab, I've registered for Webwork, and I submitted my assignments. My problem is that as I was browsing for my lab.py, the icon next to the file I was selecting(a file-type looking thing) was different than the icon next to the file in the example(the JES wormy guy). Then after I submitted it and retrieved it, I tried to open the lab.py I had submitted, and it says it can't find the program it was created in. I went back to JES and resaved the assignment and made sure I had the right file, it just doesn't seem to recognize on everything else that this is a JES file. How can I fix this? Thanks!
To see what you submitted you are going to have to open JES click File and then open. Navigate to where you saved the file and open it that way. It should display your orginal file. -Albert d'Heurle

On part A of lab 2, I cannot paste the mediasources folder into jes. Then, it won't let me load waikiki.jpg the top of the jes thing.

Is it giving any error? All you need to do is right click the mediasources folder and select 'copy'. Then go inside the JES, folder and then paste it there. - Bobby Mathew

I'm not seeing any drop down items under assignments on the turnin page. Is it busted again?
