Does anyone here like X-play? X-play is the best video game show ever.

what channel is it on?

It's on G4(channel 79 on Tech cable) It'll be on tonight at 11:00 I think...but I could be wrong. That might be the Man Show.

When do we get to see the movie contest winners?
Hopefully the Thrusday before spring break -Student2081

I wanna know why my TA always has all our grades graded so late, after everyone else has theirs...
Why don't you ask him? Remember that they are students as well.

Is there a way to see the recitation schedule so we can go to a different one than we are assigned? Mine is utterly useless, the TAs don't really seem to know what's going on and they aren't very good at teaching.
Aargh. The simplest way is to look in the course schedule in OSCAR (each section should be numbered A1..A8 and B1..B8). Some of the Who's Who TA pages may also contain this information, but you will need to scan them all and compile a partial schedule from them. I'm sorry to hear the reason why you want to move recitation section. It may be a question REMOVED of compatibility of teaching styles than competence. Ultimately, however, you and only you are responsible for your education, so you are doing the right thing. REMOVED in mind, though, that you are doing this to supplement rather than replace the section you are in. You are still officially in the section that you were assigned at the beginning of the semester, so your official TA will still be grading your work and returning it to you in his or her recitation section. So, I missed class... tear. Did they play the winner videos yet? (its the 9th btw). Will they be on the CoWeb?

No. Student2081

OK, this is ridiculous, I know people who have had their LAB 3 grades put online. My TA hasn't even graded HW3, why is that? I saw the comment made above, but even though TAs are students, the fact that they wanted to be a TA means that they need to give time to the subject regardless. I feel that we should atleast have our HW3 grades by now...

Agreed. I feel that too many TAs(not just in this class, but in all classes) use the "I'm a student too" excuse too often. When they choose to be a TA, they choose to have a REAL job on top of schoolwork. They know they will have to grade several assignments and have to deal with students on a daily basis. Some TAs take their jobs seriously. But many don't. And the problem is that no one really cares if your TA isn't doing their job well or if they even understand the material. As long as they EVENTUALLY put up some grades, that's all that matters.

I think the whole education process is flawed at Tech anyway. There are so many professors here who couldn't give a damn if you're actually learning anything as long as they get their money. And Tech should really have REMOVED restrictions on who they allow to be professors. They don't need to be teacher of the year, but they should at least be able to teach the subject assigned to them. And having a PhD in whatever does not make you good at explaining your knowledge to others. I ask you, if half of the professors were any good at actually teaching, why would they have to curve so often? Why would so many people at Tech have academic problems? Why would someone need to retake classes(and not even the same class of professor) so many times? After all, you have to be smart to get into Tech, so then why is it so hard here to do well academically? All the blame can't be put on the students in these cases.

Tech sucks. A Tech degree rules. REMOVEDve with it.

I don't know...I really wouldn't feel like I earned my degree if I didn't feel like I learned anything along the way. Many of my grades feel like they were given to me with some of the curves around here. How is it possible to turn a 57 into a 91?

Professors curve like that so they can say they are teaching. Think about it. I don't think Tech would keep paying someone who fails everyone but three people in their class. And the professors are really only about their research anyway. They only teach because Tech makes it a part of their deal. Teach a class, get reseach funds. Simple as that.

...and according to the history page, the last 5 posts were by the same person. And to that person I ask: Are you ok?
