Spring 2006 Comments - Week of Jan 23rd

General questions and comments go here. Signed or unsigned, just let us know how things are going.

if we miss a quiz or test for the 1:35 first session for some reason, can we go to the session after the 1:35 class and take the quiz or test?

You must get approval from your professor to do this. You have to take the quiz with your assigned section. Amanda Bennett
The answer is generally no. It is ok if you have a legitimate reason – like a medical appointment or career fair interview – and you check with your professor to do this (or, for that matter, to take a quiz or test early). However, we can't accommodate people who just miss one of the sections or think they need to study for an extra 90 minutes and take the second one. Colin Potts

where can we find the course notes or powerpoint slides?

Under the syllabus link. -Blake O'Hare

Why have our grades for the lab we turned in on last friday not been graded yet?

Some have, some haven't. The grades are due for the TA's today so check back later tonight. -Blake O'Hare

Is there a JES version I can run on my Mac G3 Powerbook that runs OS 9.2? PLEASE say yes....
Yes and no. You need to get something that emulates Linux or Windows for OS 9.2 (probably hard to find). However, I have a iBook G3 running OS X. Both the Mac version and the Linux version of JES work well. Larry Olson

Does the Mac version on the course software page not work for you? -Blake O'Hare

My grade for lab 2 is still not up!

Then email your TA. -Blake O'Hare

If we submitted our homework with writePictureTo() on it, but the rest of the code runs correctly, will points be taken off?
No. -Albert d'Heurle
But we'll shake our fist at you anyway! *shakes fist* -Blake O'Hare
