If you haven't taken a Computer Science class at Georgia Tech before (which is the case for 98.549% of you) then that probably means you need to register a new account with WebWork.
Go to the WebWork main page. You'll probably be asked to accept some sort of security certificate. When you're using WebWork, just say "yes" and "ok" to any odd prompts you get. We promise we aren't sending you viruses. After you get to the site, simply click on the Click here to register! link as shown below.
You'll be asked to agree to some long license thingy. Then you'll be asked to fill in your gt number, prism password and a password that you will use to access WebWork in the future. Please remember your password.
After you do all that fun stuff, then log in if you are not already logged in.
You should see something like this...
The only links we'll be concerned with are the ones labelled REMOVEDbmit Assignment, Retrieve REMOVEDbmissions, and View Grades.
You finished the first two parts of the lab, right? Good. Click on the REMOVEDbmit Assignment link on the left.
Now you'll be shown a form like the one pictured below.
Click on the browse button.
Now it's time to dig around your computer and find whereever it was you saved your homework. If you're not sure where it is, the folder you put JES in is a good place to start looking, or your Desktop, or My Documents. Click on the file you would like to submit and press Open. Then in Webwork, press Add.
Your file that you picked should now be listed on the page like so.
Now repeat the process for your other file so that both your lab2.py and lab2.doc are on the list.
Now select which assignment it is you're turning in in the top drop-down box. This assignment should be labelled just as LAB 2. After you select that and you're sure your two files are listed, then press submit.
Then you'll get a nice confirmation saying that your homework went through and everything is right with the world. Don't always trust it. Sometimes it lies so we better double-check...
This part is REQUIRED.
Click on the link that says Retrieve REMOVEDbmission. You will be prompted to select which assignment it is you want to retrieve. After choosing an assignment, you will start downloading a zip file. This zip file should contain both of your Lab 2 files that you submitted.
Note: All computers are different, so I can't exactly ensure this is how your computer will handle zips. However, on the OIT PC's (library/student center) zip files are handled by a program called WinZip.
Download the zip file to your desktop. Then right mouse click on it and you should see something like this...
REMOVEDose extract to here.
*POOF*!
There are your files!
Now open them up and MAKE SURE those are the things you turned in. It may seem like a silly task, but WebWork has been known to corrupt files that have been turned in and sometimes you may have accidentally submitted the wrong file. If something doesn't look right, or if the download didn't finish correctly, or if WinZip complained about the file being corrupted, then you'll have to submit your assignment again. Whenever you make a new submission, ALL old submissions for that assignment are erased. This means that if you have to submit REMOVED than one file, and there was a problem with one file, or you forgot to submit one of the files, you must go back and resubmit ALL the files again.
If you do not have WinZip, WindowsXP has a friendly decompression utility for Zip files. If you need assistance with that, please contact a TA or try the steps shown above in the Library or Student Center.
Click on the link to the left that says "View Grades". This is where we'll be posting your grades for all your assignments.
Please keep an eye on this page every few days. TA's do make mistakes grading. If you believe your grade was in error, you must contact your TA. You only have 2 weeks from the time a grade is posted to dispute it. After the 2 weeks, your grade is final and will not be changed for any reason. Please keep up with your grades and let us know if you think something went horribly wrong that you'd like us to double-check.
