Week 11 Comments

PLEASE DO TRY TO ANSWER THIS ONE HERE

(Starting next week, that's what we're doing – answering questions that I've heard you have or that I suspect you have. You can tell me some that you ACTUALLY have, and that'll help!)

Comments?

"A four point "leniency" fudge factor will be applied during Spring 2003."
Does that mean that we will have 4 pts added to our final grade? And if not, what does that mean?

Yes, that's what it means. Like I said in lecture when Constance asked me that Monday. Mark Guzdial

I'd love to learn how to fix my computer when it screws up! But I don't guess that would be part of this class.

How does it screw up? Are you concerned about concepts like "drivers" and "installers"? Or is it more like "Why doesn't Windows talk to my printer?"? (BTW, I have that one a lot, too! :-) Mark Guzdial

could you please post the second take home exam soon? i would like to have as much time to figure it out as possible. thanks!

No, sorry – not until class time Friday. The time limitation is part of the problem, as in any exam. Mark Guzdial

is anyone else's HW 3 grade posted yet?

I would like to learn about the different drives, installers, folders, and programs that are standard on most computers. I oftentimes look around these areas, but have no idea what they are or what purposes they serve. Myabe you could go over some of these basics to help us whenever we do have to troubleshoot.

It would also be helpful to know how to research a virus and what to do if you have one.
