for hw6, the instructions say "http://news.news.com" and "http://news.com.com" since on the latter of the two works, I assume it is that one. is that right?

Just a little question: Can anyone be really kind enough to tell me what kind of lecture materials should I focus on in studying for the quiz? I'm just a little uptight about the short answers, that's all. Since I want to be a perfectionist in answering short answer type questions if they did appear on the quiz. Thanks! This is not a stupid question, by the way.

go to your professor or your t.a., that's the simplest thing you could do at least, and see if you could get a quiz. One good idea is to go to recitation tomorrow. Victor

For the programming problem on the pre-quiz, is it asking to return a number or something like 'aaaaaaaaaa'?
I believe it is asking for a number, "aaa" represents the count of letter. I'm confused on Q2, are they asking about searching in a physical phonebook? Any tips on that one?
Well, I believe the professor is asking you to apply the complexity principle to find things in a physically-imaginable phonebook. Look at the slides about complexities. Victor Du
Since PRS quizzes are not included in our grade anymore, what happens to the 5% that it was weighted for? Do we get 100 for those 5%

When is the final exam for the class?
Your final exam depends on which section you are in. Go to the registrar's website and search for finals schedule and it will tell you when your final is based on when your class meets. Kelly Lyons
The PRS "not counting anymore" will not negatively affect anyone's grade. It is being handled in a way that it can help but not hurt you. Kelly Lyons
