Announcements-Summer 2004

1 August 2004

You will find out your letter grade for the course when it is published by Georgia Tech. Those should be up by next Tuesday or soon thereafter. Please don't harass the TAs - this is not their decision - it's mine. There are reasons I am taking this route that I am not going to discuss. Sorry. - Monica Sweat

Ok, so we have to wait for our final grade on OSCAR. But no one has answered the question as to when we will find out what we made on the final exam. Can one of the TA's or Monica please, please answer this question?

Letter grades and scores on finals...

I'll post the final exam grades on WebWork once I have turned in the letter grades to the registrar's office. Read on, regarding final exam review and such.

Reviewing your Final

Once you have your letter grade, if it is not what you were expecting, contact me - but please keep reading.

A) If it is an emergency situation because of a scholarship, HOPE, financial aid, getting kicked out of school, or having to re-register for the course immediately, then contact me asap.

B) If you did not get the grade you expected but it is not having an "emergency" impact like those listed above, then please wait until the third week of Fall semester and come get your final exam to see what happened. And heads up (for all classes) GT does have a deadline for letter grade changes: you must deal with any issues over the course grade you receive before the end of the following semester (if you are enrolled). So, you should get your final during Fall semester if you are hoping for a grade change.

CS1315 does not return the finals - they are kept on file. Actually, news flash- good news :) You CAN pick up your final - they will be available for pickup from Mark Guzdial's office Fall semeseter.

Take care! Monica Sweat

There is a new, experimental version of the MediaTools application available at Course Software (JES). The new version will allow you to quickly scale down JPEG pictures. If you have a digital camera image that you'd like to use in a collage or movie, this new version will make your 3 megapixel file into a smaller version that you can more easily work with. Try it out and let us know what you think, please! Mark Guzdial
