The nurses role in professional Development
Evaluation is the process of improving an educational system by examining the system for strengths and weaknesses in terms of meeting teaching and learning goals. Evaluation is complicated by a number of factors. First, components of an educational system interact to produce learning, making it difficult to pinpoint which one(s) specifically caused learning. Second, there is a lack of valid measurement instruments to examine specific evaluation questions. Measurment triangulation has been put forward as a means to solve this problem, but there is little guidance in how this method can be generally applied. Modeling education using Work Domain Analysis may capture the various components and interactions. If successful, the analysis could serve to guide measurement for evaluation. The current state of the model will be presented for comment and critique.
In the nascent spirit of the COS, this talk will be informal. Crowd participation is desired.
